YR prepares with personnel, equipment for natural disaster response

Preparations are underway for immediate response to disasters in Yangon Region.

According to Secretary U Nyi Nyi Min of the Yangon Region government, 3,056 rescue personnel and machines are on standby for immediate response to search and rescue operations in the event of natural disasters, including storms, in Yangon Region.
The standby machines include 210 tipper trucks, five 12-wheeled vehicles, 12 loaders, six excavators, two dozers, and 14 cranes. Additionally, there are 25 water bowsers from YCDC and 308 fire engines and fuel bowsers from the Fire Services Department of Yangon Region, said U Nyi Nyi Min.
Furthermore, it is understood that in the event of a natural disaster, including a storm, the township-level and regional-level units are prepared to respond immediately for rescue operations in Bago and Ayeyawady regions. — ASH/TKO
