Youth programme, social welfare activities organized in Nay Pyi Taw

The youth study programme and social benefit activities organized by the Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee commenced yesterday morning, with the aim of enabling young people to exchange experiences and knowledge in a friendly manner, to identify and promote traditional cultural heritage and national cultural characteristics, and to establish a harmonious community that develops steadily.
First, they teamed up and worshipped the great statue of Maravijaya Buddha in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw. Officials followed up and explained the history of the pagoda to the members of the study.
After that, they went to the Garuna Kaba Home for the Aged and Child Care Centres and gave health-related words of encouragement and strength to the grandparents, combed their hair, trimmed their toes/nails, painted, sang songs and sang poems with the children, played with balls and paint.
Then, the young people toured the National Library, National Museum and National Records Archive in Nay Pyi Taw to increase their regional knowledge. Officials from the study team explained all the questions asked by the young people, and the tour continued to the Ocean and Sinma Mall in Nay Pyi Taw to buy souvenirs.
Continuously, the youths visited the sports museum operated by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs at the Wunnatheidi Stadium, the morale enhancement hall, the photos of the athletes who won medals in the Southeast Asian Games competing and winning awards, and the portraits of the country’s famous former athletes who won many gold medals and continued to study the Wunnatheidi football stadium.
In accordance with the slogan “We will bring the glory of the country with the power of youth”, young people can increase their love for their country and participate as the leading forces in the development process of the country to improve their love for their country and culture and to better understand the rights and responsibilities of a good citizen. The programmes were carried out for the reasons mentioned above. The young people who participated in the study tour were the award-winning young people who attended the International Youth Day, and Myanmar Youth Forum held on 12 and 13 August, as well as youth representatives from the regions and states. — MNA/TKO
