Yangon United will clash with defending champions Shan United today in the Week-7 match of the Myanmar National League at the Yangon United Sports Complex, their home stadium.
Speaking about the match, Yangon United midfielder AungKyawNaing said: “We have been preparing for the meeting with Shan United after our match with Southern Myanmar.”
“We will do our best to get a good result, though we will be facing a tough team,” he added.
Yangon United had lost to Shan United by 1-2 in the Charity Cup 2020, held earlier this year.
“May the better team win. We will have to make an effort in the match. Shan United is trailing the leading team on the scoring table by a wide margin and the team will try to reduce the gap. We need to get a win to pave our way to the championship trophy,” said AungKyaw Naing.
At present, Yangon United is second on the standing table with 16 points from 5 wins and 1 draw, while Shan United is fourth with 12 points from 4 wins and 2 loses.
The match between the two Myanmar National League giants will start at 3:30 pm today. It will be broadcast live on MRTV and streamed live on MySports’ Facebook Page.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
