Yangon taxis equipped with emergency signal lights for enhanced safety

The Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC) has initiated the installation of blue and red signal lights on taxis to facilitate calling for help during life-threatening emergencies.
The Yangon City Taxi Association (YCTA) has reported that the signal lights on the taxi boards can be activated by pressing a button inside the car, allowing drivers to request assistance in such critical situations.
Permission for the installation of emergency lights on taxis in the Yangon Region was formally sought from the Yangon Region government and various relevant authorities.
Currently, over 60 taxis have been installed with these emergency signal lights.
Taxi drivers interested in installing these lights can contact YRTC for further assistance. — TWA/MKKS
