Yangon Region Team preps for U-21 Men’s Football Tournament

Yangon Region Football Team has been doing training to ensure victory in the Under-21 Men’s Football Tournament, which will be held in Nay Pyi Taw, an official from the regional football team told The Global New Light of Myanmar (GNLM).
The Under-21 Men’s Football Tournament, in which all regions and states will participate, will be held from 27 June to 11 July in Nay Pyi Taw.
“We’ve aimed to make sure the regional football development, encourage new generations of talented players and help the regional football team enjoy victory.
“We have set up a training camp for 40 players along with six administrative members from 19 May to 9 June. From 10 to 24 June, we will select 18 finalist players and will start training. On 23 June, the manager, coach and players totalling 24 will head to Nay Pyi Taw,” he said.
The training camp has been established at Padetha football stadium in Yangon Region’s South Okkalapa Township from 7 am to 9:30 am, and accommodation, meals, healthcare, security and disciplinary arrangements have been appropriately provided for players.
At present, 40 players from 14 districts for the Prime Minister’s Cup Tournament have been nominated, and if there are externally qualified players who have met the requirements, they will be reinforced to the regional team. — Thit Taw/ZS
