Yangon Region hosts largest number of private industries

As of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, a total of 47,984 private industries have been officially registered and being operated across Myanmar, with Yangon Region hosting the highest concentration of these businesses, according to the Ministry of Industry.
Yangon Region leads the private industrial sector in the country with 8,063 registered private industries, followed by Mandalay Region as the second-largest hub with 6,775 industries, while Ayeyawady Region ranks third with 5,677 industries.
Comparatively, in the previous 2023-2024 financial year, there are 43,359 registered private industries nationwide. The noticeable increase in the number of these enterprises this year reflects a significant growth in the industrial sector.
The Ministry of Industry is actively supporting the private industries for development and systematic operation throughout the country by providing necessary technical assistance and other forms of support. — ASH/KZL
