Yangon region chief minister visits Twantay livestock breeding zone

The team led by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein visited the Twantay Livestock Breeding Zone to review farming practices, livestock management, and food supplies.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected various activities, including the repair work on a dam in Kangyikon Village, local poultry and pig farming, corn fields, dairy cattle breeding, grass planting, goat farming, duck breeding, and fish farming.
An officer from the Yangon City Development Committee’s Engineering Department (Water and Sanitation) provided details on the laying of 15,000 feet long pipeline in Zone 2.
The Chief Minister encouraged farm owners to grow corn and grass alongside their existing farming operations, prepare soil for optimal plant growth, utilize vacant land for growing feed crops, install lamp-posts for better lighting in the livestock and breeding zone, and instructed an official to estimate electricity distribution.
Mayor U Bo Htay also clarified the business owners in the zone about breeding and farming practices. Departmental personnel further explained their respective areas of work to the Chief Minister and his team.
In the Twantay Livestock Breeding Zone, 78 business owners are currently farming a total of 3,279 goats, 273 dairy cows, 113 beef cattle, 36,490 broilers, 19,308 domestic chickens, 7,960 layers, 884 black chickens, 400 Rampuri chickens, 4,068 layer ducks, 1,200 broiler ducks, 1,084,000 fish, 561 pigs, and 14,370 quails. — San Kyaw Oo (IPRD)/TMT
