An article competition will be held in commemoration of World Tourism Day on 27 September, as announced by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the Department of Hotels and Tourism Management.
The competition is aimed at celebrating the significance of the day and will invite entries under the theme “Travel and Peace: Collaborating for Mutual Benefits”.
According to the department’s Director-General U Zeya Htun, the competition will recognize outstanding essays with awards for first, second, and third places, as well as consolation prizes. “The upcoming essay competition is part of the events marking World Tourism Day. The best articles will be selected and awarded first, second, and third prizes, as well as consolation prizes,” he said.
Participants are required to write articles that reflect the integration of travel and peace initiatives. The winning entries will be announced, and cash prizes will be awarded during the World Tourism Day ceremony on 27 September. The first prize winner will receive K400,000, the second prize winner K300,000, and the third prize winner K200,000, whereas consolation prize winners will garner K100,000 each.
This competition aims to highlight the role of tourism in promoting peace and fostering global cooperation, aligning with World Tourism Day’s celebration. — ASH/KZL
