Wholesale reference rate of palm oil reaches K5,465 per viss

The wholesale reference rate of palm oil, which remained stable at K5,215 per viss from 4 to 17 March 2024, has risen to K5,250 between 18 March and 21 April, spanning a total of six weeks.
However, authorities set the wholesale reference rate of palm oil at K5,465 per viss from 13 to 21 April 2024. From 13 to 21 April, the wholesale reference rate of palm oil rose by K215 per viss compared to the previous price setting.
Palm oil prices were only K4,790 per viss according to price records from 10 to 23 April 2023. While the wholesale reference rate of palm oil was set at K5,250 per viss, the retail price in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, and Pathein was K5,600 and K6,050 in Mandalay.
During the period from 13 to 21 April, when the wholesale reference rate of palm oil increased by K215, there was no direct sale to consumers during public holidays. However, on 22 April 2024, the wholesale reference rate of palm oil will be publicly announced, and consumers can purchase based on this updated rate. — TWA/TMT
