Villagers hand over handmade guns to security forces in Taninthayi, Ayeyawady, Mandalay regions

Residents from the villages in Taninthayi Region, Ayeyawady Region and Mandalay Region handed over handmade guns and related items used in riots to the security forces yesterday.
Villagers from Dawei Township, Myeik Township, Thayet Chaung Township and Yebyu Township in Taninthayi Region handed over a total of 124 percussion guns, 75 handmade guns, 17 slingshots, 98 handmade ball ammos, 2 spears, 19 ammunitions to the security forces after the security forces educated them that carrying illegal weapons can be taken serious legal action.
Similarly, residents from Phayagone village tract, Khwaykote village tract and Nyaungbin village tract in Thabaung Township, Ayeyawady Region, also handed over a total of 14 handmade guns, two air rifles and related items to the security forces yesterday morning.

A total of 2 percussion guns and one barrel were also handed over by the residents from Nattaung village tract, Nanhat village tract in Singu Township, Mandalay Region to the security forces.—MNA
