Vacationers increase over three-day holiday

Over three consecutive public holidays, many Yangon residents have been on vacation in Mandalay, Bagan, NyaungU and Mount Popa.
In addition to short trips to recreation places near Yangon Region, people have made preparations to go on pilgrimage tours in Mandalay, Bagan-NyaungU and Mount Poppa, as well as Bago and Pyay, for two days and three nights, on 19 to 21 July.
“We have a three-day holiday this week, so my co-workers and I will go on pilgrimage tours in Bagan. It is fine to visit Bagan because the rain level is low there. We will depart Yangon on Thursday night and return on 21 July at night. Some families will go on vacation on their own plans during this holiday. Some go on pilgrimage tours in Bago and Pyay,” said a company employee.
Visitor arrival to Bagan has still been on the rise even during monsoon season as its rain level is low, and it is even more prominent, especially on public holidays, according to Bagan residents. Rather than going on visits during the massive influx in the dry season, which is the peak period for travelling, domestic visitors have now taken trips during the rainy season, and there are still visitors on beaches until this month. — MT/ZS/Ed
