Up to 400 Japanese companies to recruit more than 1,300 Myanmar workers

Myanmar Embassy to Japan said in a statement on 15 May that more than 400 Japanese companies will recruit up to 1,300 Myanmar workers.
Myanmar Embassy has carried out verification of demand letters organized in order of date of receiving replies from Japanese companies, and the statement says about 406 demand letters were accepted until 3 April 2024 and submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verification. According to the statement, more than 400 Japanese companies will provide jobs for up to 450 Myanmar male workers and up to 890 Myanmar female workers, totalling more than 1,300.
The embassy verifies whether labour supervisory companies and factories or companies that offer jobs in Japan are officially established and re-submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to its statement issued on 30 April about 408 demand letters, up to 400 Japanese companies would employ more than 1,100 Myanmar workers.
Similarly, a statement about 403 verified demand letters was issued on 12 April, and it said more than 400 Japanese companies would recruit up to 330 Myanmar male workers and up to 940 Myanmar female workers, totalling 1,200. — MT/ZS
