Up to 180 Myanmar workers arrive in South Korea on the day of 1million EPS workers recruitment

On the day that marks South Korea recruited 1 million foreign workers under EPS system, up to 180 Myanmar workers arrived there, according to a statement issued by the Myanmar Embassy.

Through the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), 188 new EPS manufacturing workers arrived Incheon International Airport from Yangon on 25 June by Myanmar National Airlines UB 8301 (charter flight) and Singapore airlines flight.

Labour attaché from Myanmar embassy in Seoul welcomed workers, advised what they should follow and provided assistances.

“The migration of Myanmar workers today is the day marks the South Korea’s EPS foreign worker recruitment from 16 countries has reached 1 million,” the embassy said.

In May, total 170 EPS workers were sent to the Republic of Korea via POEA- 152 new manufacturing workers on 21 May and 146 new manufacturing workers and 24 agriculture and livestock workers on 7 May.

According to the embassy, monthly conveyances of EPS Myanmar workers are total 421 under E-9 visa in April, total 862 in March and total 1333 under E-9 visa in February.
