Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn inspects hotels in Meiktila and PyinOoLwin

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn inspected Meiktila Hotel and Wunzin Hotel in Meiktila Township, and Gandhama Myaing Hotel and Thiri Myaing Hotel in PyinOoLwin Township, which are operating in accordance with the COVID-19 protection guidelines on 4 June.
During the inspection tour, officials from the hotels explained the current state of the hotel operation, further expansion of business conditions and operational conditions for providing service to tourists. The Union Minister stressed the importance to abide by the rules and regulations of the COVID-19 set by the Ministry of Health and Sports. He also added the vaccination plan for hotel staff and the need to prepare for the safety of the tourists and hotel staff.
Meiktila Town, one of the township in Mandalay Region, is situated about 750 feet above sea level, and it is one of the famous tour sites for both domestic and international tourists. With more than 22 hotels, motels and guest houses, plans are underway to develop new tourist destinations in the township.
While paying visit to Gandhama Myaing Hotel and Thiri Myaing Hotel, which have been leasing land and buildings owned by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, the Union Minister instructed to abide by the terms of the lease agreement with the ministry. — MNA
