Union Minister U Ko Ko donates rice to monasteries, nunneries in Zeyathiri

A rice donation to the monasteries and nunneries was held at Yadana Bhīmata Dhamma Beikman Taw of Yadana San Pariyatti Monastery in the Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Five monks, including Chairman of Zeyathiri Township Sangha Nayaka (Shwegyin) Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Baddanta Vilasa of Yay Sin Kan Oo Monastery, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Permanent Secretary, Directors-General, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Religious Affairs and Promotion and Propagation of Sasana attended the ceremony.
Firstly, Union Minister and party took five precepts from Sayadaw Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Baddanta Vilasa and listened to the sermons recited by Sayadaws.
Then, the Union Minister presented religious affairs to the Sayadaws, including the matters related to the reopening of pagodas across the nation starting 8 February following the COVID-19 health rules.
The Union Minister and party donated the offertories to the monks and shared merits by pouring the water of libation when Sayadaw Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Baddanta Vilasa finished preaching sermons.
The Union Minister and party donated a total of 157 rice bags for the monasteries and nunneries in Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw. —MNA
