Union Minister leads discussion on industry and industrial zone development

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than attended a meeting on industrial development and industrial zones on 29 June 2024 at Ayeyawady Region government office. Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, regional ministers, departmental officials, and other responsible persons were also present at the meeting.
The Union minister underscored the crucial role of collaboration between government bodies to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in establishing factories. He highlighted Section 28 of the SME Law, which assigns the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency to the task of leasing land or business space at subsidized rates to SME entrepreneurs. The Union minister further stressed the importance of coordinating efforts with various ministries and collaborating with bodies responsible for chemical safety and environmental regulations.
In a separate visit on the afternoon of 28 June, the Union minister met with staff at the conference hall of No 32 Heavy Industry in Kyangin Township. During the meeting, the Union minister emphasized production of workshops at full capacity. He highlighted the need for individual responsibility in maintaining the industry’s installed equipment to prevent damage and loss. The Union minister also stressed the importance of proper upkeep for the buildings, land, and fixed assets of the industry.
Furthermore, the managing director and manager of the industry presented detailed information about the facility and discussed potential measures to improve operations. — MNA/ TRKM
