Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win inspects COVID-19 treatment centres, general hospitals in Yangon

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Thet Khaing Win inspected the quarantine facilities of Yoma Yeiktha Quarantine centre for the returnees from foreign countries in Dagon Seikkan Township of Yangon on 25 June.
During the inspection, the Union Minister instructed the preparations for quick transfer of patients in real-time and emergency ward before the transfer, management from the control room for the health condition of patient and duty assignments for volunteers.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the ICU and HDU for severely ill COVID-19 patients at Yangon General Hospital in Lanmadaw Township.
The Union Minister and party also met the Professors and in charges of the new general hospital and discussed the systematic treatment and regular medical services for normal diseases in addition to COVID-19.
The Union Minister and other officials also met the officials of YCDC at the COVID-19 treatment centre set up at Myanmar Convention Centre in Mayangon Township yesterday. The Union Minister inspected the preparations to open the COVID-19 treatment centre and health officials of YCDC clarified the completed procedures. Then, the Union Minister highlighted the plans to provide the needed medicines, the appointment of daily minimum wage workers and other arrangements for the patients.
Then, the Union Minister visited the COVID-19 treatment centre (Mayangon) of Inya centre and inspected the arrangements of Oxygen, systematic medical checkups and other preparations for COVID-19. He also instructed the health officials to offer proper medical services, follow the medical ethics and infection control procedures.
Yoma Yeiktha COVID-19 treatment Centre can accommodate 1,000 people for quarantine and 576 confirmed patients while 400 patients at Inya Centre and 250 patients at MCC COVID-19 treatment centre. The MCC COVID-19 treatment centre will accept the COVID-19 patients starting 26 June. Currently, Yangon General Hospital and the new general hospital (Yangon) offer medical services to COVID-19 patients. — MNA
