Union Information Minister inspects Sarpay Beikman, meets staff officers

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn meets the Sarpay Beikman personnel yesterday in Yangon.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected the library and bookstore of Sarpay Beikman under the Printing and Publishing Department in Yangon yesterday.
He first observed the sales of 47,000 copies of 116 types of books at the bookstore and the buying processes of book lovers.
He also met staff officers at the meeting hall.
In his speech, he said the Prime Minister adores literature and doyen literati and supports the literature sector in developing successively. It should carry out proper measures to accelerate the reading habits of students in addition to people at the Sarpay Beikman Library. It should be a suitable activity that meets the trend as an accelerating reading habit programme.
He continued that Sarso Beikman will be in place as a recreational venue for book lovers.
He urged the staff to enhance their capacity in carrying out their duties for the department.
