Union A & I Minister inspects agricultural development tasks in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation U Myint Hlaing visits Palethwe hybrid paddy seed production farm in Nay Pyi Taw.

 Union Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation U Myint Hlaing on Wednesday inspected agricultural development tasks in Dekkhinathiri Township here, urging the officials to expand their production.
The Union minister looked into the 100-acre Palethwe paddy fields in Kyarku Village and urged the agriculturalists to distribute quality paddy seeds to the farmers in time next season.
He then met the project manager to discuss the rice mill construction projects and private sector development that plays a key role in enhancing the country’s agriculture sector.
In 900-acre farmland in the township, U Myint Hlaing inspected the growing of perennial crops and growth of Japan’s species watercress plants, urging the officials to hand out seeds and technology to the farmers.
He also inspected the papaya, pine-apple, chili and long staple cotton farms which planted with the use of one village-one product system, calling for increasing of public awareness.
The Union Minister looked round a research farm where the officials are making preparations for research growing with the arrangement of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and provided gifts to Dr Hyun Seok Lee, a researcher of the agency.
