U Hla Thein, Chairman of Union Election Commission (UEC), discussed measures to tackle hate speech and fake news on social media at the meeting with Ambassador of Denmark Mr John Nielsen at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
They also discussed arrangements for holding 2020 General Election in accordance with its five norms, compilation of an accurate voters’ list, conducting electoral capacity building
trainings for various levels of the sub-commissions.
In addition, their discussion includes organizing public and voters’ awareness programmes in cooperation with civil society organizations, and amendment to the Code of Conduct for political parties and parliamentary candidates. —MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
