Two men were arrested with 13 percussion lock firearms after the confession of the arrested two drug dealers on 5 July.
Suspects Kyaw Min Oo and Kyaw Thura who were arrested under Section 19 (a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law in Paungde township police station confessed Kyaw Thura and San Maung purchased 13 firearms with 300,000 kyats from Ko Pauk Kin in Nyaunglaypin village, Nattalin Township and kept them in Myint Soe’s house in Nyaungpinsu village.
They were reportedly directed by Nyunt Hlaing who lives in Kyaungsu village, Paungde Township.
Myint Soe was arrested with 13 firearms and San Maung was arrested later at his house. It is reported that actions will be taken against those who keep the weapons, in accordance with the law. —GNLM
