Truckers, helpers to get Covid detected with test kits during holidays

Truck drivers and conductors will have Covid-19 test conducted with the test kits during the New Year holidays, according to a statement of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
The truck drivers and their helpers entering Yangon Region will have a Covid test conducted using the rapid antigen test kits during the New Year holidays to ensure the smooth flow of goods into Yangon Region and prevent the spreading of COVID-19. The tests will be carried out at Myanmar Convention Centre (MCC) on Min Dhamma Road, Mayangon Township, Yangon.
The discussion was held between Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein and the officials on 28 December. The discussion was also participated by UMFCCI’s Secretary-General U Aye Win and Joint Secretary-General U Myo Thant and Dr Win Sithu.
During the discussion, concerning conditions for detecting Covid with rapid test kits at MCC, efforts are being made to ensure Covid detecting effectively with the use of test kits. Additionally, the prevailing situations in this respect were also discussed.
Besides, the mobile markets in townships, jointly implemented by Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC), UMFCCI and brotherhood organizations, will be abiding by the guidance of Yangon Regional Government during the New Year holidays for the people to be able to buy goods conveniently and at affordable prices during the pandemic period. —Thiri (Translated by Hay Mar)
