Thiri Mingalar Kabar Aye Pagoda Buddha Pujaniya festival scheduled to take place

Thiri Mingalar Kabar Aye Pagoda’s 72nd Buddha Pujaniya Festival has been scheduled to take place next month lively, according to the pagoda’s trustee board.

The 5-day festival from 21 February to 25 February will feature Htamane offering, food offering, rice donation and offering to Buddha, Dhamma and Sanga.

“With donors and departments in townships of our Mayangon district, we have made sure that the festival to be held lively,” said an official from the trustee board.

The recitation of Maha Pathana Treatise will be held throughout the 5-day festival and Htamane making festival will be taken place on 22 February and 23 February in morning, and the consecration ceremony of the pagoda and other ceremonies will be taken place on 25 February.

“Before Covid-19 happened, we held the festival with fun activities in the whole five-day period. Now, we don’t add fun activities for some reasons,” said the trustees’ official.
