The Department of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems has issued a warning that the waterway will be closed during the installation of a 500 kV electricity transmission cable above the Hlaing River to ensure the safety of vessels.
The connection of the cable between Phayagyi and Hlinethaya will take place near Wahtaya village from 8 am to 4 pm daily, from 25 June to 4 July.
During the installation of the transmission line, the supervisory team will monitor the site by boat, both upstream and downstream, and will temporarily close the waterway.
The statement advises vessels intending to pass through the waterway to stop and wait at a safe distance from the work site and to proceed only with the permission of the supervisory team. — TWA/MKKS
