Tatmadaw offers to use COBAS 6800 machines for COVID-19 tests

Tatmadaw has offered to use its two COBAS 6800 machines for COVID-19 laboratory tests, according to the Facebook Page of Director-General U Zaw Htay from the Ministry of State Counsellor Office.
One of the machines at the No.2 Defence Services General Hospital (1,000-bedded) will be used for testing Hluttaw representatives of Defence Services and those who are at the community-based facility quarantines in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Nay Pyi Taw Council and nearby Regions and States.
Another analyzer at No.1 Defence Services General Hospital (1,000-bedded) in Yangon will be used for testing the returnees who are at the community-based facility quarantines in Kayin and Mon states after coming back from Thailand.
According to the report of Office of Commander in Chief of Defence Services on 24 April, the COBAS 6800 machines are in fully automatic system, and lowest risk of infections to the users although the results are the most accurate.—Htet Hlyan
