Tatmadaw observes Chinese warships; hosts friendly sports competition

Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein and senior officers of Tatmadaw (Navy) visited the destroyer Zi Bo and frigate Jing Zhou of the 44th Chinese People’s Liberation Army -PLA Navy Escort Task Group (ETG) yesterday during its goodwill visit to Myanmar.
The team leader, Senior Captain Sun Bo, and the duty officers welcomed senior officers of Tatmadaw (Navy) who visited the warships. Onboard, they gave a briefing to Tatmadaw officers and had a commemorative group photo taken.
Afterwards, a dinner was held on the destroyer Zi Bo, attended by the commander of the Yangon Command, senior officers of Tatmadaw (Navy), and officials from the two countries.
Tatmadaw (Navy) officers and other ranks played against officers and other ranks from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in a friendly basketball tournament to mark the two countries’ friendship at the Thanlyin Cantonment Sports Hall yesterday morning. — MNA/KZL
