Successful finger replantation at Mandalay General Hospital

A 29-year-old man from Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, accidentally severed his right index finger on the evening of 15 May.
He was transferred from Sagaing General Hospital to Mandalay General Hospital (MGH) the same day. The replantation of his index finger was successfully performed by specialists and surgeons at MGH on 16 May.
Upon his arrival at MGH, the patient received necessary emergency treatments from medical officers, nurses, and medical staff in the emergency ward. The successful operation was carried out by a team of surgeons, including Professor Dr Sithu, hand surgery specialist Dr Denial Ko Lay, Dr Phyo Swe Win Tin, anaesthetists, other specialists, and nurses at MGH.
The patient was discharged on 24 June, as his finger had shown good recovery with proper blood circulation. – MNA/TMT
