SSID to test 4,330 types of foodstuffs, consumer goods, and cosmetics

The Small-Scale Industries Department plans to conduct tests on 4,330 types of foodstuffs, consumer goods, and cosmetics produced by entrepreneurs in the domestic market.
During this financial year, they will analyze 3,365 food products, 850 consumer goods and 115 cosmetics registered with the department to ensure the safety of users and consumers.
The focus of the tests will be on checking for prohibited preservatives, moisture, microorganisms and harmful substances in the products.
In the previous financial year, a total of 4,704 foodstuffs, 1,135 consumer products and 193 cosmetics were tested, exceeding the target.
From April to the end of May in the current financial year, 620 food products, 113 consumer goods and 15 cosmetics have been analyzed so far. — TWA/CT
