Sri Lankan Ambassador calls on MoRAC Union Minister

Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin and Sri Lankan Ambassador Mrs Ponnamperuma Arachchige Prabashini Ponnamperuma discuss collaboration on religious affairs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin received Mrs Ponnamperuma Arachchige Prabashini Ponnamperuma, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
They discussed strengthening Myanmar-Sri Lanka bilateral relations and promoting cooperation in the religious and cultural sectors, enhancing ties through the shared Theravada Buddhist tradition, the annual conferring of religious titles to monks, recognition for the Shwe Jinnikaya, Ramayana Nikaya, Amara Puranikaya, and Siram Nikaya from Sri Lanka, sending monks to Buddhist universities in both countries to teach and facilitating Sri Lankan visits to Myanmar’s renowned pagodas and temples.
Additionally, they explored opportunities for collaboration in developing religious and culture-based tourism. — MNA/TS
