Social security Board provides compensation for over 10,000 insured female workers from April 2022 to January 2024

Union Minister for Labour U Mynit Naung presents medical expenses to an insured female worker who gave birth at the hospital in 2023.

A total of 17,413 insured female workers were provided with K2.186 billion from April 2022 to January 2024, according to the Ministry of Labour.

The maternity service benefits and medical expenses are provided as over 50 per cent of the insured workers are female.

From April 2022 to January 2024, a total of K2.186 billion was approved for 17,413 insured female workers, said Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung at the meeting of the Social Security Board on 20 February.

In addition, the benefit cases submitted by legally insured workers to the township social security offices are approved and issued in time. From February 2021 to January 2024, more than K62.594 billion have been issued to insured workers. — TWA/MKKS/TTA
