Six family members return to Taung Pyo Letwe Reception Centre


A family of six displaced people returned to Taung Pyo Letwe Reception Centre, Maungtaw District, in Rakhine State on 4 September in the morning around 8 am, according to the Taung Pyo Letwe Reception Centre.
The Taung Pyo Letwe Reception Centre in charge and the officials have scrutinized Marmat Shawret and his five family members.
In the afternoon, Marmat Shawret and his five family members were transported to the Hla Pho Khaung Transit Centre. The camp in-charge U Soe Aung and officials provided them with food and other items including kitchen utensils. Then, the authorities handed over the returnees to their relatives through the ward administrator.
The returnees include four males and two females. Earlier, this family had lived in Ye Aung Chaung Village, MeeTaik village track, in Maungtaw Township before they left for Bangladesh.
Myanmar has been ready to accept the verified returneessince 23 January 2018.
Myanmar government is making both bilateral efforts with Bangladesh and cooperation with the UNDP and UNHCR.
Myanmar and the United Nations had successful experience of cooperation in the area of voluntary, safe and dignified return of displaced persons in early 1990s.— MNA
