Shwemyintzu mid-stream pagoda to be illuminated with 1,500 oil lights at Shanni ethnic dance ceremony in Kachin State

According to U Chit Than, a member of the board of trustees of the Shwemyintzu Pagoda in the Indawgyi Lake, the ceremony of offering 1,500 oil lights will be held in a lively atmosphere with traditional Shanni ethnic dance.
The offering of 1,500 oil lights will be held on the lake on the night of the Thadingyut full moon, and Shanni ethnic groups will perform traditional Shanni songs and dances on the sides of the lake.
The Buddha Pujaniya festival at Shwemyintzu mid-stream Pagoda is traditionally celebrated every year, starting from the 8th Waxing of Tabaung and continuing until the full moon. The festival features Shanni ethnic cultural galleries and dance troupes, rowing competitions, and other sports events.
