Shwedagon Pagoda plans gold foils offering in 2024-2025 financial year

In the 2024-2025 financial year, the Board of Trustees for the Shwedagon Pagoda plans to present gold foils to the entire pagoda.
“At present, efforts are in progress to donate gold foils to the Naungdawgyi Pagoda. In the upcoming financial year 2024-2025, we will continue the tradition of offering a gold foils to the Shwedagon Pagoda. The production of gold plates intended for donation has also commenced,” stated the Treasurer of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees.
The complete gold foils offering for the Shwedagon Pagoda typically occurs every five years, with the last one held in the 2018-2019 financial year.
Tenders will be invited, commencing with the procurement of the necessary bamboo for constructing the scaffolding required for presenting gold foils to the Shwedagon Pagoda. The tendering process for the scaffolding construction will involve inviting work groups, screening, and selecting them based on their work experience. — TWA/KZW
