Shan United drawn in Group D for AFC Challenge League 2024-2025

Shan United has been placed in Group D of the East Asia Zone in the upcoming 2024-2025 AFC Challenge League, following the lot-drawing event for the tournament held on 22 August.
The tournament is divided into two zones: East Asia and West Asia. The West Asia Zone consists of three groups with four teams each, while the East Asia Zone features two groups with three teams each. The top two teams from each East Asia group will advance to the next stage. Meanwhile, in the West Asia Zone, the top teams from each of the three groups, along with the best runner-up, will move on to the next round. The quarter-finals will include four teams from each zone, playing within their respective zones. The champions of each zone will face off in the final.
The group stage matches for the West Asia Zone will be held from 26 October to 1 November, while the East Asia Zone’s matches will take place from 27 October to 2 November. Group matches will be held in a single round-robin format, while the quarter-finals and semi-finals will be played over two legs. The final will be a single match.
In the West Asia Zone, Group A features East Bengal (India), Nejmeh (Lebanon), Bashundhara Kings (Bangladesh), and Paro (Bhutan). Group B includes Al-Arabi (Kuwait), Arkabek (Turkmenistan), Maziya (Maldives), and Abahani (Kyrgyzstan). Group C consists of Al-Ahli (Bahrain), Al-Fotuwa (Syria), Al-Seeb (Oman), and Hilal (Palestine). In the East Asia Zone, Group D includes Shan United (Myanmar), Tainan City (Chinese Taipei), and Young Elephant (Laos). Group E features Madura United (Indonesia), Svay Rieng (Cambodia), and Falcons (Mongolia).
Shan United will host their group matches in Myanmar, with all games set to be played at the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre in Yangon. This season, Shan United is also competing in the ASEAN Club Championship.
