Shan United celebrate victory in MNL tourney

The second day of the Myanmar National League 2024-2025 season continued yesterday with a win of defending champions Shan United.
Shan United played against Myawady FC at Taunggyi Stadium and created a 1-0 win. Shan secured full points in the opening game with a lone goal scored by midfielder Mark Sekyi in the second half.
In Shan United’s starting line-up, only one foreign player was included and the core players were sidelined. Shan team was able to pressure the Myawady from the start, but they struggled to win because of a weak finish.
Shan United changed players in the second half to score the winning goal. Mark Sekyi touched the ball into the net for the single goal for Shan United in the 69 minute.
The Myawady team responded best to the Shan United, but faced defeat. Shan United midfielder Mark Sekyi won the best player award for this match. In the other matches, Ayeyawady tied 1-1 with Yandanabon FC at Pathein Stadium while Hanthawady United edged Dagon Port FC 4-3 at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre.
