Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is visiting in Russia, visited the site chosen for building a Shwesigon replica in the world cultural museum park in Kaluga region, about 107 km from Moscow, on 23 August, according to the press release of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
The Senior General also visited booths of Russia, Europe and South-East Asia.
The museum-cum-park was established on over 10,000 square kilometers in 2006, offering cultures of 252 countries including Russia.
The replica of Bagan’s Shwesigon pagoda will be built on 72ft x 72ft in the park, it will be 54ft high on completion.
Meanwhile, a Buddha Image in the style of Bagan era which will be built in a religious park and it will be 18 ft high on completion.
In the compound of the religious site, a museum of the culture of Buddhism and meditation rooms will be built, according to the press release.
