Security Forces arrest 14 members of Anonymous terrorist group with arms, ammunition in Monywa

The security personnel arrested 14 members of the Anonymous terrorist group including the group leader together with seven homemade guns, five homemade mortars, 19 homemade mines, 176 round of ammunition and other explosives at the hut near Chindwin River in Ayethaya Ward of Monywa Township on 15 February.
During the arrest, the members of Security Forces recused four innocent civilians — two males, one female and one child whom the terrorists abducted as hostages.
According to the confession of the suspects, they arrested that family as the male hostage removed their planted mine in Monywa Township.
The suspects also testified that five terrorists attended the three-month explosive training of the Monywa PDF group in the hilly area in front of Bawditahtaung Pagoda in April 2022.
After the training, they organized the 13-member Anonymous terrorist group to rob and kidnap innocent civilians and to ask for money in December 2022.
Moreover, it was found out that the Anonymous terrorist group launched bomb attacks four times with the financial and weapons assistance of CRPH and NUG terrorist groups – in Htantaw Kyunswal Ward of Monywa township in the first week of January 2023, at the junction of the industrial zone in the second week of January, at motor vehicle station at the corner of Pyidaungsu and Kyaukka roads in Alal Ward on 1 February and in Innsut street of Shwegon Ward of Monywa on 12 March.
According to the investigation, the Anonymous group killed three innocent civilians on 16 November 2022, on 10 January and in the first week of February 2023.
According to the tip-off, the police could remove the unexploded seven homemade mines planted on both sides of Pyidaungsu road and near Boebwayeiktha roundabout and two homemade mines planted near “Sein Yaung Sone” pub along Bogyoke street in Monywa Township.
The suspects were charged in the cases and further investigation was underway. — MNA/KTZH
