Science Festival 2024 continues its third day

The Science Festival 2024, jointly conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Rosatom of the Russian Federation, continued its third day in Yangon yesterday and was attended by Deputy Minister Dr Aung Zeya.
In the morning, the deputy minister attended the talk “Tough Question: Become a Female Scientist” held at the Singapore Myanmar Vocational Training Institute (SMVTI) and organized by the Yangon Technological University and Mandalay Technological University with the purpose of emerging women scientists in Myanmar.
Directors-general and officers from departments of the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as 152 students and eight teachers from the basic education middle and high schools under the Ministry of Education, attended the event. The experts presented about the science and technology, nuclear and engineering subjects, and how to become the scientists. Students also exchanged their views on the subjects.
In the afternoon, quiz competitions for science and nuclear technology were organized. The awarding ceremony for the students who are granted the scholarships provided by the Rosatom for master’s degrees at the universities of the Russian Federation for the 2024-25 Academic Year was held, and the deputy minister provided the awards. Quiz games for uplifting critical thinking for science subjects, innovation and collaborative skills were organized as part of the DIY Science Session by the Rosatom. The deputy minister observed the competitions and awarded the students. Then, the students formed the letter ‘ATOM’, and the balloons with ‘May the Nuclear Power be with You’ were released into the sky. — MNA/TMT
