Sagaing Agriculture Dept plans to grow commercial-scale straw-mushroom in Tamu

Sagaing Region Department of Agriculture is planning to cultivate straw-mushroom on a commercial scale in Tamu town as it is highly consumed in India, said U Win Hlaing Oo, director of the department. “India demand on the mushroom is growing, and so, there might have requirements. We have cultivated them on a trial basis in Tamu Township, and growing acres will be extended to send them to India,” he added.
U Win Hlaing Oo, regional head of Agriculture Department inspected the mushroom cultivation at the department’s nursery, and township head of Agriculture Department U San Oo explained the cultivation condition.
