SAC members attend 2024 Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Competition opening

The opening event of the 2024 ISR Taekwondo Competition in progress yesterday.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Inter-State/Region Taekwondo Competition was held at Wunna Theikdi Gymnisium A yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
The opening ceremony was attended by Members of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr Hmu Thang, Dr Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin, U Shwe Kyein and U Yan Kyaw, Union ministers, the Union auditor-general, deputy ministers, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, departmental officials, officials from the Myanmar Taekwondo Federation, administrators, coaches, athletes, and departmental staff.
Myanmar Olympic Committee Secretary Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Htein Lin explained the objectives of the competition.
Athletes who will compete in the inter-state/regional Taekwondo competitions then recited the four oaths of sports.
Afterwards, the SAC members and officials cordially greeted the team administrators, coaches and athletes and watched the first day of the Taekwondo Individual (Men/Women) matches.
A total of 263 athletes from 15 men’s teams and 15 women’s teams are competing in the 2024 inter-state/ region Taekwondo competition at Wunna Theikdi Gymnisium A from 17 to 21 June in Nay Pyi Taw and anyone interested in Taekwondo may come and watch the events free of charge. — MNA/KTZH
