State Administration Council Member Mahn Nyein Maung, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, and Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win opened the new two-storey building of the affiliated Basic Education High School in Tawgyisaphyusu Village, Pantanaw Township, Maubin District in Ayeyawady Region yesterday morning.
First, the SAC member, the Union minister, the chief minister and well-wishers cut the ribbon to mark the school building opening, sprinkled scented water on the plaque, and took documentary group photos.
Speaking on the occasion, SAC Member Mahn Nyein Maung highlighted that building such educational infrastructures will help the future Myanmar society to become an education-based society as the foundation of human resource development is based on the educational work of basic schools; that only when there are societies with high education and a great state with high knowledge will we cease conflicts and build peaceful societies; that the comprehensive promotion of the education sector to produce the human resources necessary for building a modern, developed, and progressive democratic nation is embodied in the SAC four social objectives.
Afterwards, expressing his pride to attend the opening event, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn said that young students are easy to be moulded like wax, so they need to be nurtured properly so as to become well-educated and visionary young people; that some are drowning without benefits for themselves and for the country due to their erroneous ideology and behaviour; that seminars and talks currently conducted by the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs will raise awareness among youths. He also called for the need to exert all-round efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the new school building and the achievement of the educational objectives set by the State.
The SAC member then presented the certificate of appreciation to the well-wishers and the regional chief minister provided school uniforms for the KG children in the school.—MNA/KZL
