SAC Member, Kachin State officials hold public meeting, visit Myitkyina University

State Administration Council (SAC) Member Daw Dwe Bu, accompanied by Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and other state officials, attended a public meeting at the Kachin State gymnasium yesterday afternoon. During the meeting, Daw Dwe Bu emphasized the SAC’s commitment to a comprehensive development roadmap, food security, domestic product improvement, internal peace, and holding a free and fair multiparty democratic general election. She urged unity with the SAC and the state government.
Representatives from district and township administration bodies, town elders, residents, entrepreneurs, cultural groups, and civil society organizations discussed various issues, including land ownership, village-to-village road improvement, market upgrades, Manaw Ground beautification, environmental concerns, and ethnic literature education.
Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan addressed food security, economic development plans, and government support for local needs. The SAC member coordinated with state officials to address these issues.
Subsequently, Daw Dwe Bu met the education staff, including the rector, pro-rectors, professors, and departmental heads of Myitkyina University. The university’s activities and cleanliness efforts were discussed, with a focus on enhancing teaching activities.
SAC Member Daw Dwe Bu encouraged educators to nurture students who think critically about right and wrong, fostering talented and aspiring youth for the country’s future.
The university representatives presented their requirements, and the SAC member addressed them in coordination with relevant ministries and the state government.
The day concluded with a get-together dinner as part of the Youth Fair Week development activities programme, attended by SAC member, the state chief minister, and other officials at 5:30 pm. — State IPRD/TS
