Retired member of SSMNC Win Neinmitayon Monastery Sayadaw Bhaddanta Munindabhivamsa dead, and former member of SSMNC Kanthonhsint Buddhism Learning Centre Sayadaw Bhaddanta Gunikabhivamsa and driver wounded in attacks of PDF terrorists

Security forces taking security measures in the region between Myotha Town and Kamma Village at about 1:30 pm yesterday were blown up by PDF terrorists under scrutiny for their number, and then both sides exchanged fire.
In the incident, at a time when mines attacked the security forces, a vehicle driving from Thakyin Village to Myotha Town arrived at the scene of the attacks. Due to attacks from PDF terrorists, the car plunged into the roadside and turned upside down about 250 metres from the scene.
After the incident, security forces inspected the vehicle, where they found a Sayadaw who was dead in mine attacks by PDF terrorists and rescued one more wounded Sayadaw and a wounded driver. In the incident, the preliminary investigation found that the Sayadaw, who was dead with injury caused by small arms attacks at the occiput, is a retired member of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Win Neinmitayon Monastery Sayadaw Bhaddanta Munindabhivamsa of Bago in Bago Region, and the Sayadaw injured with glass pieces is a retired member of SSMNC Kanthonhsint Buddhism Learning Centre Sayadaw Bhaddanta Gunikabhivamsa from Mingaladon Township of Yangon Region. Driver U Kyaw Win was wounded in his right arm by a small arms attack.
The remains of the dead Sayadaw and injured Sayadaw and injured driver have been sent to the military hospital in Nanmyo from TadaU People’s Hospital of Mandalay to receive medical treatment. Security measures are being taken in the vicinity of the incident. With regard to the incident, driver U Kyaw Win explained as follows: –
“I am driver Ko Kyaw Win. As two Sayadaws, Bhaddanta Munindabhivamsa and Bhaddanta Gunikabhivamsa, have some issues about Dhammayon in the village, they came along with me. At the exit of Kamma Village, PDF terrorists opened fire seven times, so Sayadaw Bhaddanta Munindabhivamsa was dead, U Gunikabhivamsa was injured, and I was wounded in my hand seriously. Now, Tatmadaw is giving treatment to us.”
The two SSMNC retired member Sayadaws arrived at TadaU Airport from Yangon at 10 am yesterday to attend the preliminary coordination meeting before the Shwegyin Nikaya Centre meeting to be held on 20 June 2024 at Maha Withokdayon Taikthit (Shwegyin Nikaya Centre) in Mandalay of Mandalay Region. While going to Kamma Village of Ngazun Township, the natives of Kanthonhsint Sayadaw, along TadaU-Ngawun-Thakyin-Kamma Road by car, were attacked by PDF terrorists. — MNA/TTA
