Residents return home as order restored in Mon, Kayin villages

Mon State Chief Minister and officials provide foodstuffs to local reentering Dhammathat Village.

The Tatmadaw have regained control of Dhammathat Village in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State, and Kawbein Village in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State, following counter-terrorism operations. Rehabilitation and mine-clearance operations have commenced in these areas.
As of 27 April, 220 residents from Dhammathat, Tayana, and Kawthat villages, and 485 residents from Kawbein Village who had temporarily fled from the conflicts, have returned home. Officials have warmly welcomed the returning residents and provided assistance and healthcare services. The Chief Minister of Mon State and officials have met with and comforted the residents, offering food and provisions. Temporarily displaced people continue to return to their homes. — MNA/NT
