Research papers describe Rakhine eras, history of Rakhine calendar, Rakhine textbook

The Rakhine Literature and Culture Association (Yangon) marked the 84th Abhidha Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Ashin Uttama in conjunction with the Rakhine research paper-reading session at Rakhine State Dhammayon near the eastern archway of Shwedagon Pagoda on 9 September.
Resource person May Oo Thein Nyunt read the paper on the Rakhine eras and history of the Rakhine calendar and resource person Yan Naing Min on the Rakhine textbook.
The paper of May Oo Thein Nyunt comprised Danyawady, Wethali, Laymyo and MraukU eras of Rakhine history based on past Rakhine era, Maha era, Sasana era, Suriya Citra king’s era, Kaliyugga era, Kawza era or Asambhita era. The calendar of Rakhine ethnic mentions day and date periods.
The paper of Yan Naing Min consisted of writing called Rakkhawunna and reciting rules and regulations used in successive eras of Rakhine ethnics. Writing signs of Rakhine ethnics were based on the usages of their forefathers.
The paper-reading session was joined by Rakhine historian Dr Aye Chan, Rakhine historical researcher Dr Saw Tun Aung and the chairman of the association and officials. At the ceremony, documents related to the papers were put on display. — TWA/TTA
