Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker meets with Speaker of Britain’s Lower House

U Win Myint, Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, who is currently in Britain, had discussions with the Rt. Hon. Mr. John Bercow, Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Britain, at the guest room of the Lower House at Westminster Tuesday afternoon .
In the meeting, the two Speakers talked about increased cooperation and friendship between the two Parliaments, the development process of the parliaments and legislative work of the Parliament.
Present at the ceremony were U Saw, chairman of the Hluttaw committee on the original rights of citizens, members of the Drafting Law U Zaw Win, U Sai San Thein, member of the Hluttaw Opportunity Committee, Dr Shwe Pon, member of the international relations committee, U Kyaw Zwa Win, the Myanmar ambassador to Britain and responsible officials from Hluttaw Office.
In the evening, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw spoke with HE Mr Alok Sharma, deputy minister for Foreign Affairs and Common Wealth at the office of FCO Minister, attended by U Saw and U Kyaw Zwa Min.
In addition, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw and party discussed with Rt. Hon. Mr. David Evennett MP and Mr Roy Stone, Principal Private Secretary to the Government Chief Whip at Portcullis House of the Lower House at 11:30 am and in the afternoon with Rt. Hon. HE Mr. Charles Walker, MP, chairman of Procedure Committee on Parliament affairs and legislation. — Myanmar News Agency
