Public overseas employment agency to send seasonal workers to Korea

According to the Public Overseas Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labour, seasonal workers, including female workers, will be sent to South Korea in October under the G-to-G Programme as part of the Myanmar-Korea inter-governmental agreement.
Female workers will be recruited as a priority, and the types of businesses they have to work in as seasonal workers are farming and manufacturing.
“This is the first time we will try to send them under the programme of the Public overseas employment agency. We will issue an E8 visa type for those who go to work for the first time. This is an eight-month work, three-month brake system. If they do not return home after eight months of work, action will be taken for an overstay. Their visas will be terminated,” said an official from the government overseas employment agency.
Korean employers and their representatives will personally interview the workers. If they pass the personal interview, they will have to undergo relevant medical examinations at designated clinics. — ASH/CT
