President U Thein Sein meets Turin Mayor, visits industries, factories in Turin

President U Thein Sein holds talks about establishing sister cities between Turin and Yangon with Turin Mayor Piero Fassino.—MNA

[highlight bgcolor=”#eeee22″]Turin[/highlight], 19 Oct — At the invitation of the mayor of Turin, President U Thein Sein left Milan for Turin and visited electricity generation stations and heavy industries on Saturday.
Turin is the third largest city in Italy and industrial hub which houses over 600-year old Turin University and Turin Polytechinc.
The president and party visited the power generation station of the IREN in the morning and attended the luncheon hosted by Myanmar Honorary Counsellor Mr Andrea Ganelli in Turin.
The president and party visited Maserati motor factory of Fiat Company and the CNH industries.
In the evening, the president and party met with Mayor Piero Fassino and attended the dinner host by the mayor.
During the meeting, the president and the mayor held discussions on establishing sister cities between Turin and Yangon, cooperation between Turin University and technological universities in Myanmar, sending scholars to technological colleges and universities in Turin, conducting courses on operations and maintenance of agricultural, construction and mining machinery manufactured by the CNH industry and being used in Myanmar, business delegation’s visit to Myanmar to study business and investment opportunities, technological exchange for construction of environmentally friendly gas-turbines and hydro-turbines in Myanmar and cooperation in conservation of heritage, culture and tourism
