According to U Aung Moe Kyaw, the central executive of Ngwehsaung Zone of the Myanmar Hoteliers Association (Ayeyawady Region), plans are underway to promote livestock farms and elephant camps in the Ayeyawady Region as new travel destinations.
The region attracts both local and foreign visitors to its beaches, as well as to the livestock farms and elephant camps. To enhance tourism in the area, the Myanmar Tourism Federation, the Myanmar Hoteliers Association, and the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Ayeyawady Region) are collaborating to develop these places as new tourist attractions.
U Aung Moe Kyaw emphasized that the livestock farms and elephant camps are being strategically planned to augment tourism to the beaches and draw more visitors. Additionally, efforts are being made to improve transportation to these travel destinations.
With its natural beaches and tourist attractions, Ayeyawady Region stands out as the most visited region in the country. Notably, there are three elephant camps namely Moemaka elephant camp and Ngwehsaung elephant camp near Ngwehsaung beach, and Htantapin elephant camp in Ngaputaw township. — ASH/ TRKM
