Over 500 matches at Yangon’s Junior Judo Chief Minister’s Cup

Yangon Region Chief Minister’s Cup Junior Judo Championship, which is being held at Thuwunna Stadium-I in Yangon from 21 to 25 May, is featuring 500 contests.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein opened the championship yesterday morning. The knockout matches for both men’s and women’s events were held after the launching ceremony.
About 200 athletes from 11 teams competed in the tourney. The best athletes from this championship will be selected for the Yangon Region team to compete in the upcoming Inter-State and Region Judo Championship to be held in Nay Pyi Taw from 4 to 7 June. — Arka Lin/KZL
